The Black Sticks Women have been one of the outstanding performing team on the international scene for the past decade. The team regularly puts themselves in contention for podium finishes. Fourth place finishes at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games have shown how the side can compete on the international stage. The side finally broke through at the 2018 Commonwealth Games when they defeated the home side Australia to take out the first Commonwealth Gold Medal in the programme’s history.
