Graham Shaw was appointed to the Vantage Black Sticks role in early 2019 after coaching the Irish women to unprecedented success.

He took his home nation from 16th in the world to a ranking of eight, after their stunning run at the 2018 World Cup where they reached the final.

Shaw, who was an accomplished player with 151 caps for his country from 2001-2010, was named Irish Sports Manager of the Year in 2018 ahead of Kiwi-born Irish Rugby Coach Joe Schmidt.

Since starting at the Black Sticks, Shaw has guided the team to an away Oceania Cup victory over world no. 2 Australia, which secured their spot at the Tokyo Olympics.
