The New Zealand Under 21 Women have missed out on the quarter finals at the Junior World Cup in Chile.
With everything to play for today, the Kiwis were well beaten 4-0 by Spain who qualified for the next round thanks to the result.
Spain’s Lucia Jimenez opened the scoring after just five minutes and scored her second just before the halftime hooter following a mistake at the back from New Zealand.
Spain continued to dominate in the second half, with goals from Lara Panpin and another from Marta Segu to seal the final result.
The loss sees the Kiwis finish bottom of Pool D and they are now relegated to the 13th-16th classification playoffs.
