The match schedule for the 2017 Oceania Cup in Sydney this October, featuring the Vantage Black Sticks Men and Women, has been announced. <br>
<br>
The competition which will run from 11 – 15 October will see the New Zealand Men and Women battle it out against Australia and Papua New Guinea for the title.<br>
<br>
The Oceania Cup is a major competition with the winner gaining automatically qualification for the 2018 Hockey World Cup.<br>
<br>
While the Black Sticks and Hockeyroos have already booked their spot at the Women’s World Cup in London, it will be a chance for both nation’s men should they fail to qualify through the World League Semi Final for the Men’s World Cup in India.<br>
<br>
Each team will play each other in the pool rounds before the top two ranked nations face off in the gold medal match.<br>
<br>
“The Oceania Cup is one of the biggest and most important events for Oceania hockey. Not only does it showcase some fantastic hockey, but it also pits arch-rivals Australia and New Zealand against one another, and gives all teams the chance to qualify for the World Cup in 2018,” secretary of the Oceania Hockey Federation Bob Claxton said.<br>
